shovel nose cones....how to tell...

Default shovel nose cones....how to tell...

hey guys here is a real simple question for you shovelhead guys....my brain is fried I guess and I can't remember who to tell which one is which anymore.....got me a nice nose cone with the oem numbers of 25218-70A stamped on the inside and some guy on a forum needs one but he asked me if its an end or side oiler.....how do I tell the difference ? any help with this would be greatly appreciated....thanks.....

That cone probably came off of an FXE, 1978 and is an "end oiler".

They changed 72/73 the oil hole is either in the end of the pinion shaft or the side.
