Got my bike back 07 FLHTC with 76000 miles, 3rd compensator, this time SE type.. new clutch hub and bearing...$750.00 all for $50 deductible...ESP.. Sarts and shifts differently...I like it...
Not sure what the compensator has to do with starter grind - usually grind is a sign of the starter clutch going south. On the other hand the SE Comp is a great improvement over the bandaid effort provided by the cush drive/IDS kit.
Look, i don't care what it has to do with it either...There is nothing wrong with the starter, as a matter of fact they installed a high torque starter to eliminate that to start with so it's not a starter clutch... It has everything to do with the Compensator apparently since it fixes the problem for several with the proble,.It had gotten so bad that it ruined my clutch hub splines and the clutch bearing...Starts like a charm now and is all solid feeling... now to the dyno....
