Default Easier Way to Remove Transmission Plug?

I have been using a backassward way of removing my tranny plug for a few years now (lets just say it involves vice grips). Is there an easier way to remove the plug- very short allen/hex head wrench, some kind of strange extension, ect.? it is even more difficult with my breakout- in deeper I think. Any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks.

Apparently all of you have the same difficulties I do when removing the transmission filler plug. Glad I only have to do this from time to time.

if its a softail, use a 5/8 socket or socket that fits, on an extension bar. a deep socket wont work and you have to put the socket above the shocks and slide it down and then up onto the bolt. you then loosen the bolt but not to far, the socket will hit the shocks and stop progress. Just loosen it, get socket out of the way and use your 1/4 allen key to turn it tbe rest of the way out.
