Clutch Pack Adjustment

Clutch Pack Adjustment
Today I change out my clutch cable on my FXSTDI and after some trial and error(taking apart the trans cover three times) I got the old girl adjusted so that the slack was out of the clutch cable.
Here is my technical question. The clutch level doesn't disengage the clutch until the last inch of the level. Is this normal adjustment. I adjusted the clutch pack a half of a turn.

Well, solved my own problem. I had the cable adjusting nut way too tight. My lever was firm to the end. Didn't have the recommended 1/16-1/8" slack in the lever. Went back and pulled the boot up and adjusted the cable nut a little until I had the appropriate slack. Went out and rode it and it is now engaging back in the sweet spot about 1/2 way out instead of 1" until full release. Didn't have to go back in and mess inside the primary. I'm a happy camper and it was a lot easier than removing 5 bolts and starting over.
