How tight should the belt be?

No pictures.
I would say it is a little tighter than that. I may swing by the stealership to get their option and how much to adjust it. Next summer I need to change the belt. I have 15.8K miles and it does not look good. I may try to do pictures of that if I can. My phone with flash got permanently borrowed.

Forget the twisting part of that, unless you have a set of calibrated fingers! Your owners manual and service manual both give instructions. They vary over the years slightly so there is not a single rule. Your belt will last ages, so don't get too anxious about it's appearance, unless it has sustained damage.
