Default Cam washers

I'm new here and I've got a question. I opened up a right side tranny cover on a 77 Ironhead to find a leak and replace the gasket w a oil change. There are a few shims or camshaft washers... #12 in the picture. there were a couple on one shaft and one on the other. How many are needed? One was worn and broken. It says .005-.007 on these washers.

Thanks for the help in advance.

There should be instructions in your factory service manual on setting those gears up to get the right end float or other running clearances. That's a guess! Call in the Classic Ironhead forum in HDF and take a look around. There should be some experts able to help you better than me!
