Default clutch problem i think

i was showing off today and well i think i did to many burnouts!!! the bike smelled a lil funny and i shut it off waited a few hrs and went out side to leave and it went into gear just fine but will not move so i put it in to 1st gear and i can roll it around like its in N .. did i screw up the clutch plates if so what is the best clutch plates to get bc i love to burn rubber!!!!!!! and dont want this to happen again please help and we just might drink a few thanks oh it is a 2011 Nightster 1200

pull the primary cover and see whats going on. Thats the only way to know for sure.. IF your lucky its just clutch plates, but clutches dont usually go from working one second to not working at all the next.. Something broke is my guess.

ohh i missed the part about it being a sportster.. it could be the clutch spring plate has come apart (easy fix).. pull the primary cover.

Is the clutch lever & cable in-tact and functioning normal? Guessing you grenade something in the clutch, but hopefully not a tranny issue. Like Jerseykat1 suggested, you'll need to pull the cover and take a look, for starters.

Also, if you want a burn-out bike, get a heavier clutch or invest in a crotch-rocket...leave the cruising to the Nightster.

Maybe this? They will break. Doubt it's the clutch. Even a smoked clutch will do something. Gears teeth are always meshed but what engages them is the side dogs you see broke off here. It's actually quite thin as you can see. Spinning tire in liquid rubber can catch on a dry area and ****** pretty hard. Probably a $1000 burn out.
