Hayden M6 BT07 Review
I know there's a lot of reviews out there for this product so I'll keep this brief with my initial impressions.
I installed the Hayden along with a 2014 Compensator into my 2009 Dyna. Initial gap from bottom of the shoe to guide plate was 0.265". After 50 miles I removed the cover to inspect, gap was then 0.315" with no wear in the shoe yet. Perhaps a loose spot on the chain vs tight spot.
First ride, lots of odd noises, rattling etc, went away quickly. Now I have an odd 'buzzing' noise after 80 miles on the tensioner. If I hit the right RPM around 2800, and hold it there, the buzzing becomes very pronounced. All other RPM's I can hear it slightly. Not sure if this is the same as the 'whining' some have reported. Hopefully this goes away when the chain wears into the shoe as it's pretty disconcerting, especially when I hit that spot where it gets loud.
Gear shifting is much smoother, more of a click than a clunk. Vibrations haven't changed at all and I still have a rough spot 2800-3200RPM which has been there for a long time now. Was hoping that would go away, and it still might once this wears in. 10" snow forecasted here in DC today so will be a while before I can take it out some more.
Can anyone chime in that has installed the Hayden on what sorts of noises it made? Not sure what 'whining' sounds like.
Matt

I think I read that Hayden mentions that the sounds might last till 1,000 miles when the shoe really wears in a seats itself......page Hayden is 100x better than the stock ratcheting OVER tensioner.

I didn't have good luck on mine, initial clearance was ~ 1/4", checked after 1500 miles, just a little shy of 3/8". 1200 miles later loud noise form the primary, opened it up and found tension shoe broke into halves.
Going back to stock tensioner, at least for now. Was thinking of going to Baker manual adjusting unit, but I think since all stretching were done on the stock chain (64000 miles), I can either check the tensioner every 5000 miles or weld the stock unit so it won't ratchet tight.
BTW, IPB and clutch bearing was replaced, probably due to over-tightening of stock tensioner.
