Default Rear Pulley

Hi All,

Couple years ago I had an 07 swingarm put on my 99 RKC. I bought some of the parts including a rear 70 tooth pulley (1- 1/4") as well as a new drive belt. As it turned out it was a softail pulley and since the work was done on a Sunday we had to grind down the pulley by hand tools to get it to line up properly. There is an ever so slight wobble. I have recently purchased a 1- 1/4" 70 tooth pulley from a touring unit. My question, is it OK to replace that pulley when I get my new rear tire put on this spring even with 40,000 miles on that belt and softail pulley or wait till I replace the belt and start fresh with a new belt.

Thanks in advance,

goldie

I suspect you mean 1 1/8" belt. I also have a 2007 swingarm and narrow belt on my 1990 Glide. At 40k miles I would replace both belt and pulley. Depending on the total mileage, also check the front pulley, although they are not subject to the same levels of wear.
