Default Quad seal

I left my manual at work. I'm putting her back together and would like to know if the quad seal needs to be pressed in or does it just sit in the groove.

I think you may be confusing the quad seal with something else.

The quad seal rests against the inner race of the big ball bearing, the pulley spacer will be installed on top of the quad seal.

Item 19 in the illustration.
