stripped thread inner primary
as I was putting the bike back together after replacing the primary shoe - one of the bottom threads on the inner primary is stripped - heli-coil came out - since this goes all the way through the inner primary - why not just put a longer bolt and locking nut on the other end? thoughts and opinions - thanks

May have a problem with oil getting thru. Sure you could figure it out but I would think the head of the bolt would need to be on the far side to seal it. May as well fix it. That is the two bolt calling for the sealer on the threads that hold the self adjuster on? Can you get a wrench up in there from back side? Did the heli-coil just screw out? If so, you should be able to screw one back in with sealer and brake the retainer tab.

its the bottom bolt - going from the outer to the inner primary -- all internals are good

Now I am with you. Sounds like a plan to me. There is little torque on those and the holes are ringed with the gasket. I would attempt to carefully use a file to square up back side if possible. I have saved many a blind tapped holes in aluminum by screwing a bottoming tap to the bottom and then screwing a stud to the bottom gaining all the thread left and using a nut on top. With your plan having a steel bolt and nut will be 10 times better then a bolt in aluminum
