Default Help Identify Dyna Primary Part?

I've finished installing a new belt on my '01 FXDX, and I've found an "extra" part. It looks like some sort of spacer, and it was found on the ground around the bike. It may have been there before I started the job, but I'm not sure. I haven't been able to locate where the part would go. Any ideas would be MUCH appreciated.

It almost looks like those little dowels that help you line up the inner and outer primary cases but those have a slit running through them to adjust their size so they stay where they belong.

I also think there is a spacer that fits on the inside of your primary cover that mates up with the end of the starter. Check the inside of your cover across from where the starter would be and see if that part would fit in there.

Alignment dowels for either the primary or starter.

By primary, you're referring to the innter or outer case?

There are dowels in between the inter and outer primary cases, and there are dowels on the inside of the inside primary case near the starter.

It goes to the belt guard. It is one of the spacers for mounting the rear belt guard to the swing arm. It slides into the rubber grommet and the bolt slides through it.
