I just bought my first Harley, and was curious if you should be hearing noise from the primary area, and if so, what should it sound like? I hear something kinda like when, if you ever put a baseball card on your bicycle as a kid to make that sound.. but its muffled?? And should the motor its self sound kinda loud? maybe i'm just paranoid. And by the way, the primary chain has been adjusted and it doesn't sound and different when I push the clutch in, only when the motor revs up???

 

Try changing to oil and use a quality synthetic.

 

ya i bought it from the dealership, I guess they just put fresh oil in it, so i'll have to wait and see the next time its ready to be changed. the noises get louder when the motor gets hot to.. wish there was a way to post a video on here..
