Default vrod clutch lever issues

hello

I am new to the Harley world, I've been riding sport bikes since I was 16 now that I'm more mature I'm starting to feel the pains I decided to look at cruisers. low and behold I think I've found a bike that satisfies my aging body and my young throttle wrist I purchased an 08 night rod I love the bike but.....the clutch lever only operates in the last 1/2 to 1" not too bad when its cold but once I've put a few miles on it and a few stop/starts the lever action gets shorter and shorter until I have a hard time pulling away without stalling or slipping the clutch we drained and blew out the lines (fluid was black) as I said my sport bikes were all adjustable and this one is not
the guy who had it previously didn't care for it left outside and the steering head was shot little rust marks here and there so I'd like to clean her up and get it working right

any ideas?? it also make a squishing sound when you pull the lever

master cylinder kit?

thanks in advance

Sounds like the clutch needs bleeding. This is a pretty straight forward task.
