I want om to replace my Inner shift lever on 2014 Streetglide. Anybody attempt this yet? I think the stock piece is cheaply made. Is it possible to do this without tearing apart the primary? Otherwise, I'll just wait for winter and do my inner primary as well.

Are you referring to #23 in the below diagram? If so, removing the inner primary might not be necessary; not sure on the later models as there may be enough space to remove #15 with the innner primary in place. However, I would be replacing the seal as well and the inner primary would impede the R/R of the shift shaft seal. The trans top cover will have to come off as well to gain access to #23 and, in a five speed, IIRC, the counter shaft has to be removed to provide enough space to pull #23 out from the inside. My point is, it's a lot of work to replace because "you think the stock piece is cheaply made"? Actually the spring is the weak part of the mechanism and that is what may break if it ever does. I do believe Baker makes a more robust piece but this is one where the old "if it ain't broke........." theory should be applied.

You want to replace a part on a bike under warranty?

Just check the lever and make sure it is tight, then ride the bike.
