compensator issue on 14 rk? jumped forward in gear while off
So after doing some research, it seems I have a compensator issue on my 14 Rk... Had the clunking noise on startup after fueling up.. went away and I rode 2 miles home. Here's the problem, after I shut the bike down in gear, I got off the bike and walked away. Suddenly the bike started clunked again.. loud, drove itself forward 5 feet in gear and laid down away from the kickstand. I contacted the dealer and got the typical "we've never heard it before".

My guess is that the transmission was not fully in neutral. Sometimes when that happens and the bike is still running it will engauge 1st or 2nd gear. If your bike was running I'd say that's what probably happened.
If it wasn't running and the bike leaped forward and fell I'd be at a loss on that one. There's no possible way I know of for the engine, trasmission or primary to store energy.

Did it actually start itself? My 09 Road King would sometimes crank over as soon as I turned the ignition switch on or if I had it in the on position and wouldn't stop cranking until it wanted too.
HD replaced all kinds of things, I kept telling them I think the button was defective but no they replaced the starter motor, the solenoid and then finally one day it wouldn't stop and they could diagnosis the problem. It was the switch had to pull the wire to get the bike to them, couldn't stop the starter motor from running.
added probably does not apply it never defeated the neutral switch, but if you pulled in the clutch and the ignition was on it would just start on it's on.
