Default Metal flakes in transmission oil

I pulled off my trans cover on my 2007 FLHTC for the first time to replace clutch cable and noticed quite a lot of metal shavings in the cover and around the bottom passages. I do routinely chane my transmission fluid and there is usually a decent amount of shavings on the magnet as well. I understand that having some is normal wear and tear but how much should or shouldnt there be? I only have about 8000 miles on this oil and there is more flakes than I have seen previously. The bike seems to shift normal and it doesn't make any unusual noises. Got almost 60k on it.

Gonna check inner primary and main drive bearing but am waiting for some time to free up. Bad news is I think the particles are aluminum meaning something has been wearing on the case.

Use a magnet to confirm particle makeup.

The inner primary bearing is not going to make metal that would show up in the transmission.

Check the throwout bearing while you have the cover removed.
