I had a similar noise and your diagnosis was right on the money. I went into the dealer and told them that I think my inner primary bearing was spun and the next day I get call from the dealer informing me that I was right, it was the inner primary bearing. Cost me $50 extended warranty deductible and I was on my way.
Since there were in there pulling the clutch anyways to get to the bearing, and because of the high mileage on the bike, I had them replace the clutch as well and I saved a ton on labor.
Thanks for you help! now to get that last few miles I need to break 100K.
