Intermittently I am getting a clunk/pop noise when pulling in the clutch with the engine off. Out of habit I pull in the clutch to start even if the bike is in neutral.

I can feel it in the clutch lever and there is an audible "pop" "clunk" noise down by the primary during the first clutch pull any consecutive pulls feel normal with no noise only happens when its cold or has set for a few hours. Don't have any noise during riding.

I had the inner fairing off to be painted earlier this year and adjusted the lever to 1/16 - 1/8 of free play per the service manual.

Any suggestions?
