Baker DD6 Skipping in 3rd
I have a Baker DD6 in my 06RG and recently it has been skipping in 3rd gear. What I mean is, when going through the gears everything is fine except in 3rd, it will skip as though it jumps into neutral then back into gear. When I shift into 4th it stays engaged.
Can anybody tell me what I should be looking for when I pull the top off the tranny?

You should be looking for a box that it will fit in so you can send it back to us. If it is only happening in one gear then the dog teeth may be rounded on the corners and not locking into the pockets. How long ago did you buy it? It comes with a 5year/50,000 miles warranty which ever comes first. Give us a call and ask for JT he will give you a return authorization number to wright on the box. Send it back and we'll take it from there.

Pulled the guts outa the tranny today and packed it up for shipping back to Baker.
Had to make my own Main Gear removal tool. I put a couple of brad nails in the side of the wood that faces the tranny to line up with the two bolt holes in the tranny box. That keeps the long bolt lined up with the main gear to pull it straight out.
