Default Whining Primary

I've read a number of posts concerning Primary noise in this site. Most are issues with the Inner Primary Bearing.
I am trying to narrow down the possibilities with my bike.
2004 Dyna Super Glide. Just over 30K on the ODO. I bought is 2 months ago or so.
This Primary noise just started the other day. Now when I fire it up in the garage, in Neutral, it whines quite loudly. I pull in the clutch and no change.
I put it first gear and no change.
Based on what I have read, if the noise stops when the clutch is pulled, then it is the IPB, but that's not the case here....
I have noticed that when I drop it into 1st after I start it up, is shifts very hard and goes "CLUNK!!" This started in the last week or two.
The clutch fully releases just about at the top of the lever release.
I was going to adjust that, but since I don't have all the necessary tools in my toolbox yet, I haven't.
I do have a HD Service Manual for this bike, but need to tool up.
Do you think this is a Main shaft bearing issue or a clutch issue? I got a 1 year Warranty on the bike when I purchased it. I wonder if I should ride it to the dealer, or have them come pick it up....

Start simple, make sure your primary chain is adjusted properly, it sounds like it may be to tight.

Default Yikes!!!!

Well,
The dealership called. The technician has gone into the Primary and discovered that the shifter has loosened up and was rubbing against the outer primary cover. A Bushing somehow pulled/fell out and allowed this to happen.

He also thought he was hearing noise from the Cam area, so he pulled off the cover and low and behold, both the inner and outer Cam Chain tensioners has basically exploded, causing metal to metal contact and there was metal and polymer debris delivered throughout the engine.

They are continuing to tear it down to see all the damage, etc.

Thank God for ESP!!!! $50. Looks like the repairs will be well over $1k.
