Old thread, but basically replies from people who haven't the slightest clue with actual hands-on use, just opinions. I've had one on my 1200 Custom bobber for about six years without a hitch and it performs great! I don't ride in the pouring rain, passing logging trucks, but even if I did? No more water gets into the Hypercharger than any other air cleaner., it comes stock with a K&N air filter. If you like the look, go for it!

I have one and like. I disconnected the vac line and used a golf tee to plug it. Flappers are always open as a result. If you look at the bottom rear, it has a ~2" x ~.375" slot for water to exit. No different than any other forward facing air cleaner cover.
Nice Zombie Thread resurrection, but if you felt it necessary to chime in - good for you. Personally, I still think they're one of the poorest designs w/ intake options b/c the flow isn't clean - like most of better "open" a/c's. Whatever floats your boat tho...
Not a resurrection record because officially it goes back to the last post on the thread and not original posting. So in this case the op was in 2005...definetly would be a new record but because there was a few posts in 2015 it is technically "only" a 5 year old revival. Just for the record, the record is 14 years 9 months 17 days. As far as the hyper charger goes its not my style so unless it did in fact add 50 hp i wouldnt put one on my bike.
