Townsend and Tail of Dragon
#21
I was there weekend before last, 2 fatalities, one of which I rolled up on Sunday morning. The cops will be there to close the barn door. Like the others have said, ride 28 to Franklin, then 64 west and look at the waterfalls, Cherohala and RT68 south from Tellico Plains to TWO in Suches GA. Then you can ride Wolf Pen Gap GA180 east to 129 and come north back to Robbinsville, the Gap; then take the Foothills Parkway back to Townsend and RT321.

I have ridden Tail of The Dragon and Cherohala Skyway two different time, both during the week to avoid the weekend traffic.
Two weeks ago I rode from I-75 along Hwy 64 to NC 19 along the Oconee /Parksville Lake area to Maggie Valley, a lot of school bus traffic and rafters, but a good ride. Went to the Wheels Through Time Museum, worth visiting.
It has been a while since I rode Blue Ridge Parkway I believe I will do that again the next time I am in the area.
As said all the roads in that area are good riding.
