I'm most likely camping at Glencoe. In the past I've stayed at the Broken Spoke, but it has gone a bit downhill over the years...

Default It depends what you want

It really depends what you want from the sturgis experience. BC and Glencoe are both awesome campgrounds, if you don't mind the party going on till wee hours of the morning. Sounds like you got your spot already, I'd just go and enjoy. I already got my spot at BC and am going early bird the week before so I can hopefully get a tree to pitch the tent and park under. I can't wait.....

I always stop in for a night or 2 a week or two weeks before the rally. I find it way more fun with activities and not near as busy. Will be very busy this year.

Some people prefer it to be busy!

In the past we stayed as far away as Wall and it was always great. Now we have a house in Lead(by Deadwood) which we usually rent but will make the trip this year. We had more riders than the house would hold so I went looking and almost EVERYTHING was gone. Rumor has it there may be 1,000,000 for a new record ! Crazy!

By motorcycle only are you stating tent camping only area? I'm looking into Glencoe this year. I have not been to Sturgis rally yet. This will be my first time at the rally, I'll be riding from Oregon. route: Portland Oregon --> coeur d'alene Idaho --> Billing, MT --> Strugis

Anyone know anything about http://www.contentmentcamping.com/ I was thinking about just renting a tent like this to have it all setup before arrive. Otherwise i have a small two person tent i'll just pack with me.

For people that make the ride, do you ever ship out supplies to the campground?

Just so it's known; you can camp for free anywhere in the Black Hills National Forest except for designated areas such as Mt. Rushmore.

http://www.fs.usda.gov/detailfull/fi...telprdb5121831

However you must be able to get there by established roads or hike in and you CANNOT have an open fire. Trust me you don't even want to think about having a fire. Not only is the fine very costly but if you do start a forest fire by mistake you will be paying for it for the rest of your life. The cost to fight a forest fire can run into the millions of dollars.

My Wife and I have spent many a camping trips out by Nemo by a creek but I won't tell where

When you need to shower, just stop in at the truck stop at I90 and Deadwood Ave.

I will say I've never camped during Sturgis so before you decide to lodge this way you might want to check out the website above and make sure there's no exceptions during Sturgis.

This year will be my first trip out there. Going with 28 fellow HOG members and friends. We're staying at http://sturgischalets.com/ But we reserved them in 2013. a bit pricey, but when you can comfortably sleep 14 per cabin and split the cost among everyone its actually extremely reasonable.
