Default Trailer size for an Ultra

I'm going to be getting a new enclosed trailer to haul my Heritage.
I've been hauling it with an open 4X8 trailer and it just fits with the rear ramp up.

I don't have any plans to replace the Heritage but someday I may add an Ultra to the garage so I want to plan ahead.
I only want to get what I need.

What is the overall length of an Ultra Classic?

I'm thinking I'm going to be needing at least 9' of floor space.

We were able to stuff an ultra and a road king into this trailer. I think it was a 6x10. Plenty a room for one bike and gives you the room to haul two if needed.

Myself I like a little extra room, so my suggestion would be a minimum of 7X12. That will give you little more space to safely haul two large bikes.

4x8'6"....I had to cut and weld a 6" trough on the front of my 5x8, the ramp would hit the tour pak

I have a 5X8 enclosed I haul my 05 Ultra in. It takes is all but does fit without the rear door hitting the tour pack. Not much room on the
sides to tie down. But it works for me. I didn't want to tow any bigger trailer than I needed. I even use it sometimes in the winter to store
the bike. If you get a V-nose trailer, it would give you a little more room allowing you to move the front wheel a little further forward.

Thanks, that's the informatioin I was looking for.

My Heritage in my Condor wheel chock is 8' 5.5 with the tour pak on and 8' 2" with it removed.
It only takes me about a minute to pop the tour pak off so my absolute min. floor space needs to be about 8' 6" (4" allowed for movement).

I too don't want to pull more trailer than I need so perhaps I should not concern myself with possible future needs and just get what gets the job done now.

I found what looks to be a nice "Doolittle Bullitt" trailer that has 8' floor space with an extra 18" in the v-nose with a side door and ramp for around $2K.
From the discription it seems that eventhough tight, an Ultra would fit this trailer.

Again thanks for the information.

One thing to consider: I think the new bikes may be longer (not sure, but they changed frames like in 09 and 14).

I have a 6x12.

If only hauling the one bike, a 6x10 is ideal. Look for a drop axle trailer. I have a straight axle enclosed and pull it with a Chevy Traverse. I'm thinking about selling it and purchasing a lower, more aerodynamic trailer, expecting better gas mileage.

I have a 6×12 V Nose. Fits fine.
