From Reading, PA to ?
A buddy and I are trailering out bikes to Reading from Maine and then have a week to poke around. We plan to do the Blue Ridge Parkway and then we are open to suggestions. Turn east toward the coast or southwest? Head south? Any events to visit between May 8th and May 16th?

Check out PA Grand Canyon, Kinzua Bridge State Park (both upstate PA), and Letchworth State Park in NY, up toward Rochester. You could do them all on an overnighter, and NW PA is the best riding in the state. Google those things. I live near the canyon. I have a couple of customers in Reading, and I can ride there from up here, in less than 3 1/2 or 4 hours.

From Reading Pa. Take rt 222s to rt. 30 W stop by HD factory in York Pa. for a short tour. Stay on Rt. 30W to Gettysburg Pa. 15 s to 340 in Va. to Front Royal Va.( At this point if you want to make up some time stay on 30 go to 81 S.) At Front royal you can pick up the skyline drive will take you to the blue ridge Parkway. If you don't want the Skyline Drive get on 66 to 81 you can run rt 11S that runs beside 81 to Harrisonburg Va. then get on the Blue ridge. Have a good ride.
When you return stop by my MC club Drag racing on May 16 starts at 10am Check the web out Reading motor Cycle club.

Luray Caverns in Luray, VA. We rode the north part of Skyline Drive, got off to visit Luray Cavers and then took US 340 to Waynesboro. The ride down the valley was great. Keep in mind that the speed limit on the Skyline is 35 and VERY well patrolled and the speed limit on the BRP is 45 for the most part. Grand Father Mountain, Chimney Rock, Blowing Rock, Mount Mitchell, Linville Falls, NC and way too many more to mention. Maggie Valley offers the Wheels Through Time Museum and there are the Tail of the Dragon, The Hellbender 28 and the Cherohala Skyway that are close. Remember, it's about the ride and not the destination.
