That's great . We tried to get a second room a few months ago and were told they were all booked.

I always stay at Elkview Campgrounds of exit 37 of I-90. Never been any loud parties or the burn out crowd there. The restrooms/showers are clean. Food and drink available along with some light entertainment.
The tent camping area at the back of the grounds is huge and could hold many times more than it ever has.
The pic is two years ago and you can see the room in the background. It is the same all directions. Along the dry (usually) creek with shade gets packed with tents early. In a storm I don't like being under trees and don't care to see how much rain it takes to overflow the creek. I pitch the tent in the open.
Expect at least one rain/hail/wind storm per Sturgis event. Never failed in 14 times that I have been there. Lost two tents over the years. missed the biggest hail storm by being in the right area at the right time. Saw the aftermath when I got back to camp.
I just got my 15 Street 750 ready for the trip. Just need to load up the backpack and head west on the 30th. That was my 11 XL1200L in the picture. Last year I took the 13 Street Bob. I have been leaving the touring bikes in the garage favoring light agile fun rides.

staying in Hermosa also -- at the heartland rv park and campground. stayed there in 10 and 11. they have about 50 tent sites, don't know how many rv sites. nice little campground, close to custer and iron mountain.
