Went for a ride with the wife today. Started from Bergen county nj. Made it up to Bear mountain ny. Then went to perkens memorial drive hung there a little while. Then proceeded down to 9w south back home. There's were I started to notice a ticking noise. One I've herd before. So I pull over check the main nut on my open belt drive to see if it was loose It wasn't. So I went to start the bike and continue on our way. That's when the problem hit me.... Hit me right in the leg. The starter gear shot off the starter. I look at my wife and said were in a bit of a pickle. Her immediate reaction was panic. Me being the great husban that I am I told her... We're screwed. So now she is really panicking. Her not knowing I've had this happen before or not knowing anything about bikes. I gave her the confuised looked. Then said I don't know if I can get it started. So I picked up the starter gear put it back in held it there with my finger. I guess you can say Luckily I didn't get my finger caught in the ring gear. And started the bike. My wife jumped for joy and I look Like a SUPER HERO. Score one for me. 5 hours later were home and I've got BBQ corn mashed potatoes and a more then happy wife...... Until we started to argue about the dishes
