Helen to Clayton, GA. Warwoman road to hwy 28.
28 to Highlands, NC, Franklin, NC, to Hwy 74.
74 to Wayan Rd to hwy 64.
64 to hwy 175/75 to Helen.
An 3/4 day, 200 mile ride with waterfalls, curvy roads, and enough scenery to give you a sore neck

 

Why? As someone that has been to europe i found it fun to walk around and look at the shops and horse drawn carriages for a bit. I wouldn't want to make ot a focal point but it is certainly worth saying you saw it once. I travel with my better half so it balances out.

 

These Americaridesmaps.com maps are very helpful. this one might be the area you are interested in. Cheap too.
The Chattahoochee national park has some good riding along with what everyone has already mentioned.
