Great trip report! I love going to the Smokies as well. It's almost an annual thing for me.

The goal today was to ride to the northern suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. You see, I'm going to be applying for a Visa to move there soon as I have already accepted an internal transfer at my company. So since I was only a couple of hours away I wanted to use this opportunity to familiarize myself with the location a bit so I can figure out where I want to live. Part of the route there took me down some mountain passages through a town called Suches.

Windy road to Suches, GA. There are so many roads in NC that look just like this.

They call it Hotlanta for a reason. And when you're on a bike baking in the sun there's no escaping it. So I had lunch in Canton, checked out a very cool subdivision and road back to Robbinsville before I could die of heat stroke.

I took Hwy 68 through Ducktown on the way back. Great road...but aren't they all out there?

One of my favorite roads is the Cherohola Skyway. But before hopping on the Skyway I had to make the mandatory stop at the Harley outlet.

Robbinsville is a great place to stay as it's just down the road from the Tail of the Dragon. Unfortunately, other than fast food there aren't a lot of options for food so I found myself eating at Lynn's all three nights that I was there. The food was surprisingly good.

Subscribed...when you live right next door you tend to take things for granted. I'm a half days ride from Maggie Valley and haven't been there in way too long. Thanks for the pics (and yeah, few NC roads ever run in a straight line )

Actually, I stayed at the Two Wheel Inn just down the road from you. Saw a ton of bikes at the Microtel though.
