I looked through the rest of our pictures and they were either very close to what I've already posted or they would be uninteresting to people who don't know us so with the exception of the one below, my road report is complete.
In a previous post I made the comment that I was mesmerized by Mt Rushmore and couldn't look away from it. Here is photographic proof. My wife had gone to the bathroom and then to look around the gift shop so I hung around outside for 15-20 minutes. I don't think I moved from this spot the entire time.
Huskers, we had the time of our lives in your neck of the woods. We appreciate the locals being such gracious hosts and we look forward to returning as often as we can.
You would really enjoy the night lighting ceremony. The faces take on a different look and seem to loose some of their features when lit from below. Seeing the avenue of flags in the moonlight was pretty cool as well. The pics didn't capture it well but it's worth the trip.
