HD Rentals and HOG rentals are almost always fairly new bikes in good condition, but you should always check the tires. About 12 years ago we did a rental out of Bob Dron HD in Oakland Ca. We did about 1,500 miles in a week. On the last night out I checked the rear tire and it was totally bald with cord just starting to show. The next morning it was 48 degrees and raining as we left Lake Tahoe. Had a little pucker going riding back to Oakland.
