You rode from Mobile to Rapid City straight through?
That is a hell of a ride! Over 1600 miles in 24 hours.
I did it in 2 days from Pensacola, but laid down for 4 hours in Salina KS after 1200 miles.
I'm glad I did too because I rode the Nebraska sand hills the next morning and had one of the most beautiful, memorable rides of my life.

This year I left at night to avoid the heat. I left at 9PM with some light rain and great cool night air.
I got tired and stopped in Peoria the next evening around 5PM. I was originally going to the UP and over to Sturgis but I did not get off work in time so I reversed the route.
