Default Gettysburg Bike Week?

I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on the Gettysburg Bike Week from those that have been. I already love the area but would like to know what to expect to see and accommodations near the rally. If we go I plan on doing the steel toe toure again in York, I've been but the wife hasn't.

I live several miles north of Gburg. As far as Gburg Bike week goes...it's ok. I don't think anything exceptional however most people have a good time. Check out there website. If you want to try it out, you'll want to check on making reservations for a hotel or motel now! All the campgrounds will fill up also. Hope this helps some. Also you can tour the battlefield and there is a fair amount of back roads to ride.

The event itself is pretty lame although a lot of people come in to town to attend for some reason. I usually ride up for a few hours on Saturday and avoid paying the $15 to get in to the Allstar Complex where the event is actually centered. Since you're doing the HD Factory Tour, you could get a room in York a little easier and cheaper and ride there each day. This past year there was a field hockey tournament going on during bike week that brought 75 teams to the area so hotels very difficult to find. Also the HD Factory Tour is usually closed the week of July 4th which this year was the week before GBurg. I don't want to discourage you from coming just done have high expectations when comparing to other events.

Thanks for the feedback, staying in York does make more sense. I did a solo ride out there a few years ago, a mental health 3 day run but never during the rally. There really are some great back roads around there. Also seeing the flight 93 memorial on the way out is a must do for me.

I agree with staying in York. There's a Best Western just down the road from the HD plant. As I recall it's only 30 miles to G'burg so it's an easy hour ride. Some good roads to ride. Make your reservations early though!
