Ride around Lake Superior

The MAC is indeed intimidating. The grates do not line up and the bike wants to wobble back and forth. I tried just cradling the bars and that helped. The wife said that I didn't shut up the whole way across. Watch when you come from behind the construction curtains or the wide supports in the middle. The wind will relax and you will end up in the other lane. That's experience. There is a certain speed that you can travel going across the grates that make the roadway disappear and that is disturbing to say the least. All in all, we had a great time going around the south side of Superior. Stop at Munising, MI and visit Picture Rocks. They run a boat tour and is worth the price of admission. Beware though, if you get sea sick you might want to rethink your options.

Rode the north shore this summer. Rode alone. No problem. Roads are for the most part in great shape. Stayed in Grand Marais, Nipignon, Wawa and Sault Ste. Marie. Best part of the ride is between Nipignon and Wawa. It is a very nice ride. Made reservations but would not do that again. Would not stay in Nipignon again. Grand Marais is pretty cool. Ride over the Mackinaw bridge was OK but would not want to do it in the rain/wind. Paved side was closed so had to do the metal grate. Speed limit is like 35 so just concentrated on the truck ahead of me. Did not ride the south shore but may this next summer.
