Default More West Virginia questions

Similar to another thread a group from MI will be exploring WVA this August. If any locals can help we are looking for a home base to leave from/ return to each day. Perfect would be good spots for craft beers/ breweries or taprooms, decent food near lodging kind of centrally located. We normally rent a home but if someone knows of a cool place to stay that is MC friendly I would rather give them our business. Centrally located not necessarily in the middle of the state but in an area we can branch out n,s,e,west on different days.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

We stayed in Charleston WV. It was just for one night so we didn't get to know it very well, but the Red Roof Inn was decent and cheap. The riding in that area is fantastic.

Clarksburg/Bridgeport is built around US50 and I-79. You should be able to get to just about any good place within an hour. Its located in the North Central part of the state.

If you decide to stay in Clarksburg/Bridgeport, send me a PM and we can have a beer and I can give you recommendations based on what you are looking for.

You need to spend some time White Water Rafting on the 'New River" ... it's well worth the adventure

Check out Smoke Hole Resort in Cabin, WV. It's closer to the East side of the state near Seneca Rocks. I've heard good things about it, very biker friendly and they even offer guided motorcycle tours. Mountain State Brewery is not too far away in Thomas, WV.

This is one of my favorite places to ride. Nice curvy roads and beautiful views. Rt 33 gets very twisty east of Seneca rocks just before the state line.

Elkins might be a good hub. Seneca Rocks, Cass Scenic Railway. and lots of twisties are not too far away. Not far at all into Maryland from there either. There are a couple of mountain tops near there that you don't have to talk to God, you can whisper cause you're so close.
