When in Sturgis for a week, meals?
Hi
I have a question for those of you who spend several days camping or staying in motels. What do you do for meals, when attending the rally? All restaurants, or preapering some or most yourself? Thanks in advance for taking the time to respond. Type of food or meals would also be interesting to see.

Breakfast: Plenty places around that will have Free Biker breakfast or donation. Also, some of the campgrounds have food tents set up.
Lunch: We carry snack packs, peanut packs, granola, etc. and usually have a late lunch on the road somewhere..If you can't find something to eat in Sturgis, Deadwood, Rapid City, Custer, Keystone, etc...you're in trouble..lol
Dinner: Late lunch so we dont have to have dinner, just snack items if needed..

In Sturgis finding a restaurant can be an issue, not too many sit down places and a wait will be the norm. The giant Easyriders building had a decent steak and we sat inside on a hot day. I think we got lucky because we did not have lunch so we had an early dinner.
Street meat is everywhere, buyer beware.
Deadwood can be good with the casinos, my one buddy makes us go the the same buffet every time we are out there. We are staying in a house in Deadwood, so I am sure we will be there again this year.
Overall your best bet is eat at home (road home). We are renting a house so I am sure we will be doing breakfast or lunch before we head out everyday. A couple of dinners at the house as well. We find rainy days to be good for the girls to get extravagant with the meals. If you have a decent meal before you go out, maybe street meat near the end of your day can be OK. Do not want to live on that stuff.
We have also had some good luck with places out of Sturgis during day rides. But some places are popular and will be swamped.
Overall you will not starve, but it is a small town surrounded by small towns.

I have always had good breakfast and coffee at campground (Elk View) for 5-7 bucks. Lunch on the road, HD in Rapid City, Wall, Custer, Hulett, Sturgis, etc. Then supper on the road as well. KFC in Spearfish, Pizza Ranch, Deadwood restaurants and casino buffet, street meet in Sturgis. First trip to Sturgis, ate at a BBQ vendor in town and it was outstanding. We ate two suppers there that week. Have not seen the vendor there since.

There is absolutely no issues eating while at Sturgis.
If you're staying in a hotel or renting a house, I don't even understand the question.
But, there's literally food for sale everywhere. I camp at the Chip, so there's always something for breakfast and dinner. If you're out in town, it's a piece of cake.
As far as sit-down restaurants out in the city of Sturgis, I've never even considered it.

You'll be able to find something for everones taste during the rally...in town mostly vendor style grub with a few restaurants but some change menus during the rally for quick turnover. If you're looking for a wider variety and healthier choices, you may find it in Rapid.
I've never starved during the rally, but Im always hungry!
