75 north from Ketchum to all the way up to Gibbonsville was one of the best roads I have ever been on, a real treat. And for me very unexpected, Idaho was great. In Ketchum there is stuff to see regarding Ernest Hemingway, that is where he died.

Glacier NP is well worth the miles, again amazing, we went there last on our turn around to start heading east and home. We were coming from Jackson Wyoming and took 20 West through Idaho Falls. Hot and flat BUT Craters of the Moon NP is cool all day long. An actual lava field in southern Idaho!!!! Worth the detour, something you are not going to see in too many parts of this country except maybe Hawaii. Cools off fast as you head north to Sun Valley.

All great suggestions. Take a look at Stanley, Idaho and that state route 21 that takes you past Lohman to Boise or to route 55. If you end up taking that road in your travels you'll enjoy it. Also, those roads that are on the west side of the Tetons, say from Ashton down to Soda Springs, are mighty fine riding.

All these are great roads. Boise up to Salman for the southern portion and Stanley is through there. Also southwest of Missoula to Kaskia and north to Cor De Alen are great also. Going up into Bonner Ferry was beautiful too. So many places

This summer we will ride from Vernal UT to Jerome ID. The next day we'll start towards Boise then head Up 21 to Stanley then on to Salmon. From Salmon we ride to northern Washington then 5 days in BC. On the way home we'll hit Butte MT for a night then Cody WY for a couple nights.

This is great. I am planning a ride from Medford OR thru Idaho, up to Montana, then west to Washington before heading south back to Medford. I haven't done much planning and I appreciate all the information you guys are posting.

Route 12 from Lolo Mt heading west to Washington state is an incredible ride, 99 miles of winding road as it follows the river.
