First of all, I'm thrilled with all the folks that have been riding here in my new home town! This entire area is just spectacular.
And, here's the actual view from the top of Lewiston Hill. Clearwater River running across the bottom of the pic, the Snake River running into the distance. Lewiston, Idaho to the left, Clarkston, Washington to the right, and in the very, very far left distance, NE Oregon. Pics don't do the view justice. It's a 180 degree sweeping panorama that will take your breath away on a clear day.
And that is a piece of Old Spiral Highway in the foreground. The blacktop is brand new, the views are amazing, the road is very, very technical, and traffic is almost zero. Makes a great training ride! Hills are bright green at the moment, btw! Great time of year.

It's already been mentioned several times but the Lolo Pass (Route 12) is a must, it's just plain fun. Did a trip two years ago and hit Going-to-the-Sun Road, Beartooth Pass and Lolo Pass all in one loop, and while Going-to-the-Sun was impressive and Beartooth Pass was breathtakingly beautiful, I'd have to say Lolo Pass was the most "fun." Beartooth Pass was my favourite experience, but as far as actual riding goes, Lolo Pass was a lot faster, a lot less traffic, and a lot more fun to actually just RIDE.
Would've liked to ride it West-to-East instead, seems like the climbing would've been even more fun. Next time I guess!
