Best of Idaho riding??
Plan on leaving North Dakota in late July and was wondering if anyone could give me the do's and don'ts of where to ride and what to see in Idaho, maybe eastern Washington, eastern Oregon. Plan on hiting highway 12 thru lolo pass and maybe hit Glacier NP again. Any other comments or ideas would be great. Even a chance of hitting Banff and that area up in Canada. Plan on riding for about a two week trip. Thanks again

As others have said 93 is beautiful. If you ride 93, take ID 28 down thru Lemhi valley. Hwy 12 Between Lolo and Lewiston is gorgeous, follows the river for miles with nothing but curves and lots of pullouts. When you get to Koskia, take Hwy 13 south to Grangeville, nothing but corners. For views, it a better ride south to north. From Grangeville take Hwy 95 south along the Salmon River, one of the most scenic rides anywhere!
If you time, WA 129 south from Lewiston, ID is nothing but corners with spectacular views. 129 drops you into Oregon along the Grand Rhone river, really cool country. Also any of the back roads around the Palouse ( between Cheny and Pullman) area are awesome. You can do 200 miles around there and see maybe 30 vehicles.
Have fun, that whole area has some outstanding riding.

US 12 from Missoula MT to Lewiston ID is one of the most spectacular rides in the country. 200 miles of this:
WA 129 south from Clarkston, WA (becomes OR 3 at the state line) takes you through what's known as Rattlesnake Grade. Riders from all over the PNW come to ride it:
The Grande Ronde River:
That's only a hint of what Idaho has to offer.

One more. This is actually a scan of an old postcard. This is old US 95 going through Whitebird, Idaho. To the right is one of the most famous Indian battlegrounds from the final stand of Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce. This is between Grangeville, Idaho and Riggins, Idaho. This road is still there, the blacktop is more than decent, and I guarantee you'll probably be the only vehicle on the road. The views are magnificent.
