So that's what Monument Valley looks like when the sun shines. We went through there in a bone chilling rain and it was still beautiful.

And I almost forgot to mention that I am staying in a dive Motel on Route 66. How great is that?!

I was lucky to be able to skirt the rain for the last few days. It was either just before I got to where it was raining so, or right on my heels.

I didn't go into the tourist area in the middle of the valley but there is a 7/11 at Medicine Hat I stopped at.

Grand Canyon day. I stopped at the Weatherford Hotel downtown for breakfast. If I knew this place was here, I would have stayed in it. Lovely old building and good food. Then rode up 180 to Valle. There is a big store there, worthy a look. And if you are going to The Grand Canyon on a busy weekend like this one, get your entrance tickets so you don't have to wait at the gate. Even with my yearly pass I had about 1/2 hour delay to get to the bypass area. If not I bet it was another 15 minutes before you could get in the park. Anyway, 180 is a nice ride. A bit twisty in the forest until you get up on the plain, then windy as hell.

Well, if Monument Valley takes your breath away, then the Grand Canyon will knock you out. Words and Pictures cannot even come close to the real thing. I will let the Picures speak for them selves .....

I took some more Panos, but the image size is too large, and PhotoBucket and the thread don't like each other so they will have to wait until j am home.

Well it was a great day, but tomorrow looms and I need to sort out a plan. I can head west, but that is Vegas and I have done that already this year. North is pretty much the same way I came, or roads I have done before. So ..... Colorado here I come. I will head due East tomorrow, see the Crater, Stand on a Corner in Windslow, Petrified Forest and then head to 4 Corners. So 160 takes me into Colorado, and I will exit out on 13 north of Steamboat 3 or 4 days later.

I need some roads to run on. Give me your best rides, or rides you have heard of. I will get a Colorado map and a highlighter and see what I can glue together.
