Default Colorado to Laconia Bike Week, leaving 1st week June.

Currently planning my first loooong solo Road King trip; about 4000 miles round trip from Mead, CO to Laconia NH. Going out I-80, I-90, I-93. Planning to depart 8 June.

Any must see places or recommendations along this route?

Thanks -Rich

Make sure you get some Lobster Rolls in New England.

They are the Boom Digity!

Need to narrow this down a bit. So many things, and roads.

What are your interests ?

As you close in on the Northeast.

York Pa Harley plant. 9-11 Memorial in NYC. West Point just above city. Depending on arrival date, you can swing into Americade bike Rally at Lake George NY.

Air Museum at Hartford Ct Airport (Bradley). Sub Base in New London CT. Maritime Museum near by. Freedom Trail in Boston. NH Seacoast - 18 mile ride, 85% on the water. Bentley's Biker Bar in Arundel Maine.

Then, there are the great rides all around near Laconia. Mt Washington Auto Road - Bike only for two of the days - and the many ways to get there.

As to Laconia Rally itself, I have a thread on the Road Glide Forum. Check it out for the new things going on there this year. Lot's of Music events. Skynrd/Frampton, Steven Tyler, Brett Michaels, Ted Nugent, Jackyl.

Direct questions, pm me. Ride Safe.

Also, depending on your interests, on the way out of Laconia, stop into the Harley Rendezvous out side Albany NY.

3 days of camping, drinking, music, and numerous topless women. Need an advance ticket, purchased online.

Actually, they are Wick ed **** ah !

Really thou, even McDonalds sells lobster rolls now. Pretty good ones too !

Lobster prices cheaper, Boston and north. In August, cheaper than hamburger. Was 5.99 lb for 1.5lb + in the supermarket a few minutes ago. Plus, they steam them for free.

Do yourself a favor and get off I-90 in Albany/Troy and take Route 7 into Vermont which turns into Route 9 and that will bring you across Vermont and all the way into Concord NH. Much better ride and NO tolls!

Plus 1 on this suggestion !

Your are in the neighborhood, by the time you reach the start of this route.

The extra hour will get you in the "mood" for the area !!!

Plus 2 on not taking the Pike all the way to 93. By the time you get all the way out here you will be more then sick of interstates. Taking the Mass pike to Boston and up 93 is not my idea of a fun time on a bike.

Some very nice riding through upstate NY Vermont, and NH, much better then the highways around here.

How long will you be in the area? Lots of really nice areas to explore all over New England.
