Day 14 - Friday, May 29
Time to go home. Approximately 300 miles away. I am so ready. David too. We got up and packed and and had a pretty good hotel breakfast. We wanted to bypass Shreveport, but poor road signs messed us up and we went through downtown Shreveport, hit horribly rough roads, but made it through. A pit stop at our usual place near West Monroe, Louisiana, the Pilot, and on we went. It was so hot and sticky, but when we crossed the Mississippi River back into our home state, a shower cooled us as we hit the bridge and ended before we hit the other side. It felt so good. Then we air dried our way to the Kangaroo on highway 61 where we fueled up. As we drove toward home, I caught the wonderful aroma of the mimosas blooming. I love this state. Wheat is ready for harvest, corn is beautiful and cotton is coming up nicely. We reached Satartia, then Bentonia, then the gravel road we live on. We made it up to the house and were greeted by J.J. and Tarbaby (two of our seven dogs). Everything is good. We unloaded, went to Clinton to get the 4 dogs there, and then went to our neighbors' up the road to get our other one. We are home after the trip of a lifetime (for us), carried by our Father and Protector, our Creator of the beauty we saw, and our breath of life. We praise God for His safety and for the memories we will have for our lifetime. Mileage for day 14 was 311 miles. The trip total was 5144 miles for me and 5150 for David. (He went to Walmart in Page, AZ for toothpaste and other stuff.) Thank you for traveling with us!

Thanks so much. We had that trail camera to act as a security cam while we were gone. I didn't even think about it capturing us coming and going. It was pretty cool when I first saw it.
