The wife was not feeling well this morning, so we didnt hit the road as planned. I waited until 1230 and she was still down and out, so I headed out. I managed to get in 202 miles. All country roads. I saw more bikes today than yesterday.

Hope she feels better soon. Right now northern California is having a heat wave. At times in September and October, we get a wind out of the east, which is usually hot and dry after passing over the desert in Nevada. Makes for riding the coast pleasant.

I would think riding the coast would always be pleasant.....so long as there wasn't a storm, or a fire, or an earthquake...lol.

For much of the summer, the coast is fogged in. The really nice time is now. In a couple of months, the winter storms begin, lots of rain and wind, separated by cloudy periods.

Couldn't resist a Sunday morning ride. It was warm and sunny, so I really had no choice....lol.

I road up to Rockford, by the airport, and got on Rt 2, southbound. I rode this all the way to Grand Detour. I then circled around back to Oregon, crossed the Rock River, and went north on River Road, to Byron.

From there it was German Church Rd, east to Rt 64 east, to 251 south, to home.

I managed to get in a nice little 105 mile ride.

I decided I had better mow the lawn, before the predicted rain hit. After that I washed the Ultra, while it rained....lol.

Yesterday after work I rode the loaner back to the dealer and picked up my Ultra, after having the 65,000 mile service performed. I decided to take a little ride before heading home. I rode from Dekalb to the Rockford Airport, where I hopped on Rt 2 for a little sunset ride along the Rock River....this is the best section of road in my area, and is always a good way to get in a fix....lol.

I managed 30 miles on the loaner, and 98 on mine. I got home at 8pm, and only saw one deer standing in a ditch along a park...which I expected.

Here's a little clip from the Castle Rock Area.
