My step dad and I are doing a saddlesore 1000 Saturday 9-24. Starting at 430 am just east of St. Louis. 64 to Lexington, KY. 75 to Chattanooga. 24 to Nashville back home. 1063 miles scheduled. Can't wait. It's our first time to attempt this. Looks like some hot weather ahead of us.

Wish I would've seen this sooner. That sounds like an awesome ride! How did it go?

 

Ride was awesome. Left my house at 330 am. First gas receipt was about 420 am where I met my step dad. Got home about 11 pm. Only hit traffic in Chattanooga for a short time. Temps were 101 in lower Tennessee. Hot air sucked. Beyond that, not a drop of rain. Sunny skies. Beautiful scenery and a lot of time to reflect on life at 70 mph. All in all a great experience. Can't wait to fill out my paperwork to get my iron butt membership. Already planning one for a 2 up trip with the wife for next year. I'm addicted now.
