What is the best way to trailer wo compressing suspension excessively?

Tnriverluver's method is the same as we do using WheelDocks. Only diff is our ratchet straps have no hooks; there's one strap that loops back into the ratchet. Saw those looped straps on a factory crated Gold Wing; work perfect

I never compress the suspension. Simply put a soft tie around each axle and then connect them to the ratchet straps to pull forward into the wheel chock. For the rear just put the soft tie around the swing arm and then connect to the ratchet strap pulling 90 degrees to the side.

Never ever connect a ratchet strap in the center or rear to pull back. Should a front strap malfunction the bike will be pulled out of the chock by the rear straps pulling back.
