June 2018 50th Birthday Ride
Here is a ride I am planning to due in June 2018. I turn 50 in June and want to spend it riding my motorcycle. This is an initial route and will probably be altered multiple times before the actual trip. It would be great to meet up with other riders along the route to keep the boredom down.

I grew up in Southern California and lived in Arizona for a few years. I am aware that it will be very hot. I will be well prepared for the heat. I have taken a similar trip back in 2013 on a 03 CBR600RR. The trip in 2013 was a total of 6000 miles from door to door. During that trip I rode thru a Monsoon, a dust storm, and 70 mile per hour cross winds. That bike was not designed for long trips and long hours in the saddle. The Ultra Limited Low that I own now is a much more comfortable ride.

Nice! In WY take your route north to Cody then up to Red Lodge, MT and ride the Beartooth Highway - US212. That will take you to Cooke City, MT and into Yellowstone. Then US191 south to the Tetons (breath taking!) and Jackson.
In ID take ID75 north to Stanley then ID21 or ID21/ID17/ID55 across the state. Takes you up and across the Sawtooth Range.
Or reverse all that if you're doing the other direction.
Cool to see Crate Lake and the Pacific Coast Highway on there! Crater Lake is one of my favorite places. Give me a few more minutes and I'll add another 1000 miles and a week to the trip!
There should still be snow on the mountains if you go in early June. Roads will be clear. It will still be a little toasty when you get in the desert areas of the Southwest.

Definately look into this route. A slight deviation to haak30 route, I rode hwy 9 out of St George to Hwy 89 then to 12. Hwy 9 goes through Zion NP. Definately worth it. And some nice twisties as well.
