Riders in Jackson Mississippi area
#2
I am not far from you, by the name it looks like you may be a bit north of Jackson as I am. I am in the Flora area. Spend a great deal of time on rides on the Natchez trace or the back roads through the Delta

Me and my dad ran the Nachez Trace this year and loved it. There wasn't alot of traffic so you could just stretch out and enjoy the ride. From Nashville all the way down was a cool ride. I think I need a bigger tank for my 48 though. Lol... Fuel can be scarce at times on that run I found out.

That is true, a larger tank is better on the Trace. When my son is riding with me on his long chop shovelhead we have to plan those stops, he gets about 65-70 miles per tank. There is actually gas to be found easily on the exits for many of the small towns, the key is to know which ones. Some you can exit off but it may be 10-20 mile for gas and others is within a mile. I can see where it can be a nightmare for people who do not know those towns and exits.

For limited fuel range bikes it does pay to plan ahead.
My rule on a trip in rural areas, is not to pass a fuel stop if I'm at 1/2 or lower and to either fuel up either at the end of or at the beginning of a day.
I also carry a "hillbilly " gas card (siphoning hose) rolled up in y tool kit just in case.
