Skyline dr. to New River Gorge WV advice

If you like biscuits, gravy, etc. there's a chain in WV called Tudor Biscuit World.
I've pretty much lost my taste for biscuits but they have some of the best that I've had in many years and I especially like the "Mary B" that has bacon, egg, and cheese.
Gotta have ONE when I go down that way!

I've really impressed some folks in one of our car clubs with special places to chow down.
I (used) to watch a lot of those food shows on TV and whenever we were in a certain area we would "stop in, and pig out:!!!
Fact is a few of us went to the Parkette Drive-In down your way (Lexington) two years ago.---Not bad.

I believe from Waynesboro I would take 250 into WV to Bartow then south on 28. (Once through Staunton and Churchville this section of 250 is a great road for motorcycling.) Follow 28 to the end at 39 then west on 39 to Marlington. There's a place to stay in Marlington right in town along the river which has rooms upstairs and a restaurant and bar on the first floor and a big porch (I forget the name though). For a fun little detour, from Marlington turn north on 219 up the mountain (and switchbacks) then left on 150 (Scenic Hwy) which'll loop back down to 39 west, to Summersville.
Do NOT speed in Summersville, or any little town in Nicholas county for that matter because they rely on tickets for revenue and as mentioned will ticket you for 2 mph over. For this reason I never give them a dime of my money never stopping to eat, gas, or lodge there. If I did stay there it'd probably be Fayetteville which is just south of Summersville. The New River bridge is nice to see though and do be sure to take the old road down crossing the lower bridge and back up. From the north side of the bridge on 19 you access the little road behind the visitor center.
For heading back to PA I would go just a bit south on 19 and take 60E at Hico on to I64, to 219, and take 219 north all the way into MD and PA.
This would make a nice ride, have fun!

I posted this in N.E. section also. The wife and I are gonna ride Skyline drive north to south in June. Thinking of rolling over to the New River Gorge from Waynesboro. Any thoughts on a good route? Also gonna need some good riding from there north back to PA. Hotels and motels info would be appreciated too along with anything else we should see.
Thanks in advance

You didn't mention where in PA you are, but a few of us rode to the bridge in October for Bridge Day. On the way back, we took 19 from the bridge, up to 79, and stayed overnight in Bridgeport. Then rode 50 all the way over to Cumberland MD, and then up 220 to get home. I've been on 50, 3 different times, and I'll do it again, it was such a great ride. It was up & down WV hills & twisties & hairpin turns. Really fun. If you live in western PA, 50 crosses 219, and you can head north from there, but 50 all the way to 220 was great. Even those interstates were nice rides. 68 from Morgantown to Cumberland is really nice. My dad's in a home in Norfolk, and when I go visit (mostly in the car), I stay overnight in Waynesboro. (I like 81 to 64 a whole lot better than 66 to 17 to 95 to 64.) I've ridden Skyline Drive, but never went from Waynesboro to the bridge so, sorry, but I can't help you out with a great ride to the bridge, but if it were me, from looking at Google Maps, I'd probably just take 64 to Beckley, and then up 19. It's only about a hundred miles from the bridge up to where we stayed in Clarksburg/Bridgeport. Restaurants within walking distance from hotels in Bridgeport too.
