Default 2 days ride from Boston to Louisville need suggestions

Planning a two day ride from Boston to Louisville to meet up with old friends for a longer ride. Need suggestions for travel through Pennsylvania, West Virginia and/or Ohio. Not sure which way to go but I want to avoid the big cities at all costs. Any suggestions welcome.

Retired 18 wheeler pilot going by memory here:
I90 west to
I84 west to I81 south
I64 west to Louisville.

Zero metro issues. Other options I'm sure, but this is the best route without breaking out an Atlas or GPS

I ran to Boston a lot from Louisville in a big truck. The FAST WAY is across the toll road to Cleveland then I71 to Louisville if you wanted to slab it

OP states "avoid cities at all costs" That route puts him through, Buffalo, Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati.

Yes it does. But it's all in what time you pass thru the town
Don't know the mans riding style. But Boston to Louisville via the back roads - 2 days
It's 985 from Boston to Louisville on the slab. May have to run over and hit I 81 for a little bit then cut across Va or w Va
Lots of options for sure

Thanks checkers and farmboy. I've done several 700 plus days but 985 is Iron Butt territory, no thanks. So 2 days is the deal. I don't like navigating metro areas if I can help it. Option 1 is checkers route getting in to Louisville about beer o'clock. Appreciate the help.

I64 west of I81 is a pretty ride if you can do it during the day. There is a grade called Sandstone that will warm up the TC and open the throttle for a few miles. Enjoy and be safe.
